Felony reports for September 1, 2010
Antonio Terrell Scott, 19, was charged with Burglary and Assault. Antonio was caught by the victim taking property belonging to 807 Avon St. The victim called the police and fought with Antonio. Antonio confessed the he walked into the man's house and removed a bag of stolen property.

Keith L Daniels, 25, 25 W Linwood Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Burglary, Robbery, Criminal Damaging and Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle. Keith was at 1179 Frederick Blvd and got into an argument with the victim. He punched holes in the victim walls and broke the victim's tv. Keith then assaulted the victim and grabbed the victim's purse and left the residence

Drug Arrest:

Around 2:00 yesterday afternoon, officers from the Akron Police Departments Narcotics Unit arrested Aurthour Bailey, 30, of Akron-Peninsula Road. Bailey was charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Ecstasy and Tampering with Evidence. Bailey was stopped near the central interchange while he was driving a 2009 Mazda mini-van. As officers approached the minivan, Bailey threw a baggie of cocaine out of the window. Bailey also had over 16 grams of powdered cocaine and over $11,000.00 cash on his person.

Officers executed a search warrant at Bailey’s residence. Officers recovered almost 300 doses of Ecstasy and over $1,000.00 in cash.

Bailey was booked into the Summit County Jail.

Jocephus Richardson, 47, 1815 S Arlington St #D, Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Jocephus has a prior conviction for domestic violence from 9-14-94.

Clarence L Taylor, 39, 427 Hillwood Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Identity Theft. Clarence was found hiding under a bed at 2268 23rd St after taking the victim's vehicle without permission.

James J Henderson, 27, 778 Carnegie Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Robbery. James and Jessica Henderson robbed the victim of his wallet, money and credit cards. James was apprehended at 778 Carnegie Ave.

Aris Lamont Mann, 20, 1737 Cromwell Dr #4, Akron, Ohio was charged with Felonious Assault. Aris got into and argument with the victim. Aris struck the victim in the face knocking the victim to the ground. Victim required hospitalization and multiple staples due to a head injury.

Donald J Rumpler, 50, 1294 Bellows St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Donald has a prior conviction for domestic violence from 4-14-08.

Marc A Hornsby, 39, 452 Matthews St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Breaking and Entering. Marc and Andra L Fitzgerald broke into 502 Adkins and carried out a top loading washer and left it in the driveway.

Master D Lollar, 18, 1194 Hartford Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Drug Abuse Crack and Adult Curfew. Master was stopped at Copley and Valdes for driving a vehicle that fit the discription of a car involved in a fight. Master was driving without a license and was found to be in possession of drugs.

Trent C Long, 40, 1177 Morningview Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Kidnapping, Domestic Violence and Domestic Violence Menacing. Trent got into a physical altercation with the victim causing visible injuries to the victim. Trent refused to allow the victim to seek medical attention.

Michael A Prewitt, 34, 1134 Cordova Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Kidnapping, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Weapons under Disability, Obstructing Official Business and Aggravated Robbery. The victim and family members were approached by Michael and Clifford Atkinson at gun point. The victim's were told to get on the ground. One victim was able to call the police and the two were apprehended after a foot chase at 955 Patterson Ave.

Mary Nicholas, 44, 3711 Greenlawn St NW, Uniontown, Ohio was charged with Robbery and Burglary. Mary attempted to steal $297.00 from J C Penney at Chapel Hill Mall.

Willie L Boone, 30, 127 Clinton Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Robbery. Willie robbed the Key Bank at 2288 Romig Rd.

Marc Allen Hornsby, 39, 425 Matthews St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Robbery. Marc grabbed the victim's purse and fought with the victim to get it away.

Dontae J Twyman, 29, 437 Hillwood Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Felonious Assault. Dontae shot the victim several times in the body with a .380 cal handgun

Charges Signed in Traffic Fatality of Amanda Rosepapa:

Detectives signed charges on the 17-year-old male driver of the car that killed Amanda Rosepapa, 21, of Bellaire, Ohio. The crash occurred in the early morning hours on August 21, 2010. Charges of Murder, Attempt Murder, nine counts of Felonious Assault and Kidnapping were signed against Jeffery Piorkowski, of North Royalton, Ohio. He is currently in the custody of the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.

Robbery:

Around 4:30 Saturday morning, a 78-year-old male was robbed of his wallet and $65.00 in cash. The victim reported he was at a gas station in the 600 block of North Main Street getting a newspaper when he was approached by a female. The female continually asked the victim for money. The male refused to give her money, then turned and walked away. The female then reached into the victim’s back pocket and grabbed his wallet. The victim chased the suspect for a small distance.

Responding officers located the female suspect, Tina M. Nelson, 49, of Victory Boulevard in Cleveland, Ohio. She was charged with Robbery and booked into the Summit County Jail. Officers recovered the victim’s money, however his wallet was never found.

Aggravated Robbery:

Around 10:00 Saturday night, two males were arrested after they tried to rob several individuals at gunpoint on Lucille Avenue. The victims reported the suspects approached them in the back yard with guns and demanded money or dope. As one suspect held a gun to a victim’s head, the magazine in the gun fell out and onto the ground. The suspects then fled on foot.

Responding officers located the two male suspects in the 900 block of Patterson Avenue. Officers arrested Clifford A. Atkinson, 24, of West Tallmadge Avenue and Michael A. Prewitt, 34, of Cordova Avenue. They were charged with Aggravated Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Weapons while under Disability, Obstructing Official Business and Kidnapping.

The Akron Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that took the life a five month old baby. The accident occurred around 4:00 Sunday morning in the intersection of Copley Road and Mercer Avenue. The child was riding in the back seat of a Buick LeSabre that was traveling westbound on Copley Road. The driver of the Buick attempted to turn southbound onto Mercer Avenue, when a Chevy Impala, traveling eastbound on Copley Road, collided in the intersection. The occupants of the Chevy Impala fled the scene on foot. The passenger was later located and transported to St. Thomas Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Buick was transported to Akron General Medical Center for treatment. Officers located the child, unrestrained, in the back seat. Officers performed CPR on the baby until paramedics arrived.

The child was transported to Children’s Hospital where she later died. The child has been identified as Chyna Hayward of Beacon Street in Akron. The accident remains under investigation.
