VISUAL ART

Submission Guidelines - Follow the checklist below to ensure a complete entry.

checkbox.jpg (1017 bytes) Only one entry per student will be accepted. Students submitting more than one entry will be disqualified.

checkbox.jpg (1017 bytes) Entries must be accompanied by a completed and signed (student and parent signatures required) entry form.

checkbox.jpg (1017 bytes) Collaborative entries are limited to no more than three (3) participants. Each participant must complete and submit a separate entry form.

checkbox.jpg (1017 bytes) Each entry must have a title that is relevant to the composition, written on the entry form.

checkbox.jpg (1017 bytes) Entries must be accompanied by an Artist Statement. Artist’s Statements must include the entrant’s name, school (if applicable) and title of the work. Statements may not exceed 100 words. Statements must be submitted typed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper, and also digitally on a labeled CD in a Microsoft Word file.

checkbox.jpg (1017 bytes) Dimensions: Two-dimensional works cannot be matted. Image size cannot exceed 18 x 24 inches. Three Dimensional works may not exceed a combined total (height + width+ depth) of 60 inches, and a total weight of 20 lbs. Winning entries in the Visual Art category will be moved from the judging site to a display site. Please consider the sturdiness of your entry and how well it will travel.

PLEASE NOTE: If guidelines are not adhered to, entry will be disqualified.

Visual Art Entry Drop Off

Visual Art entries must be delivered between 12 pm and 6:30 pm Jan. 27th, 28th and 29th, 2010 to:

Judging procedures

Winners will be chosen based on interpretation of the contest theme, technique and originality. (See rubrics.)
