Residential City-Wide Sidewalk Program

The Engineering Bureau is responsible for the planning, designing and constructing of the public improvement projects of the City of Akron.  Our goal is to produce high quality projects, on schedule and within budget.  To do this, we must establish accurate project scopes and estimates, design for economy while maintaining high standards and clarity, and administer our construction contracts with efficient and effective procedures.  While doing this, we must also maintain cooperative working relationships with the public, City Council, the administration, other City divisions, consulting engineers, utility company representatives, contractors, developers, suppliers and federal, state and municipal agencies.

While accomplishing our mission, we are expected to maintain the highest level of ethics and professionalism.
