Reneé GreeneRENEÉ L. GREENE

Reneé L. Greene was born in Washington, Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh. Her family moved to Cleveland when Reneé was very young. She is a graduate of Glenville High School and attended The University of Akron receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.

Mrs. Greene was a teacher in the Akron Public School system for more than 30 years before her retirement in 2002. She taught math, was a Magnet School Program Manager, computer teacher, community liaison, and Dean of Students.

Mrs. Greene was appointed to represent Akron’s Ward 4 residents in 1997 and was elected the following year. In 2004 her colleagues voted her City Council’s President Pro-Tem. She served on many community organization’s boards and committees.

She left council in 2009 after serving twelve years representing the citizens of her ward. She remains a leader in the community and is devoted to her family and church.

Reneé Greene and her husband, Robert, Sr., have four sons and 8 grandchildren.
