Detectives are investigating the death of a 17 year old male, found in a driveway in the 2300 block of 21 Street SW in Akron. The victim was found shortly after 3:00 pm yesterday afternoon. The cause and manner of death is pending autopsy results by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. The autopsy will be conducted today.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending positive identification and family notification.

Fatal Car Crash:
The Akron Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 12:30 this morning in the 900 block of East Avenue. The victim, a 24 year old male, was driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata northbound on East Avenue when he lost control. He drove over the curb, through a vacant lot and struck a vacant house at 991 East Avenue. The victim was pronounced on scene by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
An autopsy is scheduled for today. The victim’s name is being withheld pending positive identification and family notification
The crash remains under investigation.

Aggravated Robbery:
Around midnight last night, the Circle K, located at 1526 South Hawkins Avenue, was robbed at gunpoint by two males. A clerk reports two male suspects, one armed with a shotgun, entered an unlocked rear door and robbed the clerk of cash, lottery tickets and money orders. The suspects fled out the rear door.
The suspects are two black males, 20 – 30 years old, 5’05” – 5’11”, wearing gray sweat pants and white masks. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.

Melissa J Wilder, 34, 954 Marion Pl, Akron, Ohio was charged with Robbery. Melissa along with Jean Wilder and Aaron Uncapher robbed the victim of money, wallet and cell phone.
James Daniel III, 27, 716 Grace Ave, Akron, Ohio was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Assault and Child Endangering. James went to the victim's apartment and kicked in the door and assaulted the victim. The victim and 4 others pushed the victim out of the apartment. Four children were present at the time of the assault. |

| 5/17/2012 | 7:11:31 AM | | Felony reports for May 17, 2012 | Joseph R Sitosky, 19, 504 Allyn St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Attempt Burglary. A witness called the police when they observed Joseph at 1638 Tonawanda Ave. When Officers arrived they observed Joseph walk from the rear of the house and saw where he attempted to gain entry into the south side of the house. He was apprehended and admitted he had no business being there.
Aaron M Laverick, 20, 4119 Orchard Dale Dr #8, Canton, Ohio was charged with Unlawful Use of a Telecommunications Device. Dale advertised on Craigs List that he had a "modded modem" that could provide free internet service through Time Warner Cable for sale. A Time Warner representative agreed to meet Aaron at 360 E Waterloo Rd to purchase 3 modem for $230.00.
Travis Jefferson, 22, 821 Leonard St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Burglary, Violation of a Civil Protection Order and Domestic Violence. Travis forced his way into the victim's home and assaulted the victim. The victim has a protection order against Travis.
Deliano M Rucker, 36, 844 Beardsley, Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Deliano has 2 prior convictions for domestic violence from 6-8-11 and 8-30-11. |
