Mayor Proclaims
Akron Health Department Thank You Day |
| (11/23/09) - The Mayor of the City of Akron
has proclaimed today, November 23, 2009, as "Akron Health Department Thank You
Day". As part of National Public Health Thank You Day, that mayor asks all residents
and City employees to salute the Akron Health Department staff’s dedication to
protecting the health of all those who live in and visit Akron. In particular, the
mayor’s proclamation focuses on the department’s current efforts to protect the
community during the H1N1 pandemic through intensive, ongoing education and implementation
of community-centered vaccination clinics, which have served to effectively distribute
more than 12,000 doses of vaccine to at-risk persons in our community in less than one
month’s time, all without any reduction in level of ongoing services to the
community. END
