ROBERT KEENER has been a member of the Akron Fire Department since August of 1992. During his career, ROB has been very active with additional duties beyond responding to fire calls.

ROB became an EMS instructor very early on and is certified to instruct Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, International Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Trauma Life Support, Geriatric Education for Emergency Medical Services, and Special Children's Outreach and Prehospital Education (SCOPE)

ROB recently distinguished himself for developing a new Patient Care Report for Akron Fire Department’s EMS System. HE has also been invaluable in assisting in the development and implementation of AFD’s new Incident Reporting software.

ROB is a dedicated family man that is blessed with a wonderful wife Terri, twin boys Alec and Aaron, and daughter Megan. When ROB is not spending time with his family, he is an avid golfer and has been a volunteer at Firestone Country Club’s World Golf Championship for many many years. ROB was honored for his years of service with the position of Tournament Director in 2008.

Lieutenant ROBERT KEENER has been a dedicated Akron employee for 18 years. HE has demonstrated his commitment to serving our citizens by consistently stepping forward to take on new and challenging responsibilities, by responding to a myriad of fire and rescue situations, and by providing excellent, compassionate Emergency Medical care.
