STEVEN TURNER began his career with the City of Akron Water Pollution Control Stations as a Seasonal Utility Worker on June 16, 1988. HE became a permanent Treatment Plant Utility Worker on October 31, 1988. On July 3, 2008 STEVE was promoted to his current position of Treatment Plant Mechanic.

STEVE installs, maintains and designs wastewater equipment to ensure the plant process operates reliably and that the facility maintains compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (N.P.D.E.S.) permit issued by the State of Ohio EPA.

HE is a very reliable employee and enjoys working with other trades in the wastewater field such as Plant Engineer, Contractors, Vendors, and City employees. STEVEN takes pride in helping and showing other employees how to perform their work properly often showing them an easier and safer way to accomplish the job.

STEVE has been married to Francine for over 30 years. They have two children, Kayshauna and Shamar, as well as three grandchildren Kierra, Jashaun and Brice. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and rehabbing houses. HIS real joy in life is helping other people and is very involved with his church. STEVE also has a degree in theology.

STEVE is always the first employee to volunteer for any job assignment regardless of difficulty or how dirty it may be. HE is truly a team player and an asset to the City of Akron.
