OFFICER TODD SINSLEY began his career with the Police Department on January 28, 2008. Since his graduation from the academy, he has been assigned to the 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. uniform patrol shift. TODD is a field training officer, CIT officer and taser certified.

OFFICER SINSLEY answers calls for service from citizens, actively backs up other officers and pays attention to problem areas when not on a dispatched call.

In March of this year, OFFICER SINSLEY and his partner made a traffic stop on a vehicle that ran a stop sign at a high rate of speed. A male passenger in the vehicle was profusely bleeding from a severe cut on his right elbow. OFFICER SINSLEY immediately recognized the seriousness of the injury, removed the victim’s belt and made a tourniquet to control the excessive bleeding. The victim was then transported to the hospital by the Akron Fire Department. According to the responding Fire Department personnel and attending physician at the hospital, OFFICER SINSLEY’S quick actions saved the victim from bleeding to death.

TODD and his wife, Michelle, have been married since November 2004. HE and Michelle have an eleven month old son, Maxwell. They also have a lab mix named Nova, which TODD rescued while working. In addition to spending time with his family, TODD enjoys working on their home and he’s an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.

OFFICER TODD SINSLEY is eager to improve the lives of the citizens of Akron on a daily basis and is commended for his knowledge, dedication, skills and attitude.
