OFFICER TODD SINSLEY began his career
with the Police Department on January 28, 2008. Since his graduation from the academy, he
has been assigned to the 3:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m. uniform patrol shift. TODD is
a field training officer, CIT officer and taser certified.OFFICER SINSLEY
answers calls for service from citizens, actively backs up other officers and pays
attention to problem areas when not on a dispatched call.
In March of this year, OFFICER SINSLEY and his partner made a traffic stop on a
vehicle that ran a stop sign at a high rate of speed. A male passenger in the vehicle was
profusely bleeding from a severe cut on his right elbow. OFFICER SINSLEY
immediately recognized the seriousness of the injury, removed the victims belt and
made a tourniquet to control the excessive bleeding. The victim was then transported to
the hospital by the Akron Fire Department. According to the responding Fire Department
personnel and attending physician at the hospital, OFFICER SINSLEYS quick
actions saved the victim from bleeding to death.
TODD and his wife, Michelle, have been married since November 2004. HE
and Michelle have an eleven month old son, Maxwell. They also have a lab mix named Nova,
which TODD rescued while working. In addition to spending time with his family, TODD
enjoys working on their home and hes an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
OFFICER TODD SINSLEY is eager to improve the lives of the citizens of Akron on a
daily basis and is commended for his knowledge, dedication, skills and attitude.
