CHARLES H. WALKER began his career with
the Akron Fire Department in 1992 as a Firefighter/Medic. Thirteen of those years were
spent as a paramedic.CHARLES goes about his work without pause or complaint. He
can be relied on to be at work and doing the best job possible at all times. He can be
counted on to familiarize himself with new tools and different means of operation and to
help others around the fire station and on the fire ground.
HE earned an Associates Degree in Construction Engineering from the University
of Akron. He is also a twenty-year veteran of the United States Air Force Reserve,
achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and is Chief Flight Engineer with his unit on
C-130 planes.
CHARLES WALKER has been deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan,
Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq and Operation Joint Forge in Kosovo.
CHARLES enjoys spending time with his wife Marva and son Donovan in their West
Akron neighborhood. He also enjoys listening to contemporary jazz.
CHARLES is truly an asset to the Akron Fire Department.
