Brian with Mayor Plusquellic

OFFICER BRIAN CRESSWELL began his career with the Akron Police Department of April 5,1999. Since his appointment and graduation from the Police Academy he has served on Platoon Four working 7:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.

A native of North Hill in Akron and a 1987 graduate of North High School, OFFICER CRESSWELL now serves the city patrolling in car twenty-four (24) which covers North Hill and surrounding areas.

BRIAN is a member of St. Vincent Church parish and is a baseball coach for the North Akron Baseball Association. Brian has been married to his wife Lauri for fifteen years. They have four children aged 7-15 years. HIS interests include football, spending time with family, reading and working around the house.

OFFICER CRESSWELL is well known for his dogged determination and attention to detail as he pursues criminals operating in his district. BRIAN makes a point of knowing everyone in his district who has a penchant for criminal activity. HE and his partner recently cleared a large number of burglaries in the North Hill area that had occurred over a brief period of time and in a very concentrated area.

OFFICER CRESSWELL is often relied upon as a resource for the detective bureau as they attempt to identify suspects in open cases. HE has been a catalyst for developing cases against criminal gangs in conjunction with the city’s gang unit and wrote the grant request for the Hot Spot enforcement for the summer of 2007.

OFFICER BRIAN CRESSWELL is a credit to Platoon Four, the Akron Police Department and the City of Akron.
