BETH METTLE began her
career with the City of Akron in the Engineering Bureau in May 1992 as an Engineering
Associate Co-op. In November 2005 she was promoted to her current position of Applications
Analyst.BETH annually provides AutoCAD upgrade training for her Engineering
co-workers and other divisions. She orders all hardware and software within Engineering;
sets up the hardware; installs the software; troubleshoots any problems and provides
maintenance on the network drives to keep them operating efficiently.
SHE was a leader in establishing and updating the CAD drafting standards manual
for in-house projects and projects developed by consultants. BETH customized
AutoCAD and associated design software to develop construction drawings in accordance with
city standards.
In her spare time, BETH enjoys riding her motorcycle, hiking the trails in the
local parks and participating in sports.
BETH is always looking for new and better ways for technology to assist with the
scope of work done in the Engineering Dept. She attends the annual AutoCAD University
Conference and brings back a wealth of knowledge and new techniques that she implements in
the office and creates a significant savings to the city.
BETH is always very pleasant to work with and is an asset to the department.
