KAREN is responsible
for overseeing construction contracts primarily on the east side of Akron. She also
oversees construction at all of the Citys fire stations and the Citys
wheelchair ramp program. Presently, the construction under her administration is well over
$10 million dollars.
KAREN is very knowledgeable of the City of Akrons construction and
materials specifications and of the extensive documents required to administer
construction projects. She is often a resource for others learning the proper procedures
to do so.
KAREN is also responsible for putting together the Engineering Bureaus
Resident Project Representative Training Seminar annually, in which engineering
technicians, engineers and managers from many of the divisions of the Department of Public
Services attend to learn about new policies and procedures, new technologies, updates in
construction materials, special construction inspection methods and resources available to
city employees.
In her spare time, KAREN is very active in the Parents Club at Our Lady of
the Elms High School and is currently its president. She volunteers at Akron General
Medical center and also enjoys playing tennis.
