APRIL 2006

Robert Langston

Robert with Mayor Plusquellic

ROBERT LANGSTON began his career with the City of Akron Fire Department as a Firefighter/Medic in October 1992. In 1995 he graduated from the Paramedic Education Program at Akron General Medical Center and was recognized by his peers with the designation of "Class Leader". In 1995 he was assigned to Fire Station No. 4 where he continues to work today as a firefighter, paramedic and specialist on the Hazardous Materials Response Team. He has recently been assigned to the training manual update committee. He also acts as a preceptor in the paramedic-training program helping current paramedic students with their training and skills.

Fire Station No. 4, and in particular Medic 4, is one of the Fire Department’s most active locations. Individuals working on Medic 4 experience one of the highest run volumes within the department, and while we have many individuals who spend several years there, it is a challenging and demanding assignment. Robert has the distinction of having spent the last eleven years at Fire Station No.4. He has consistently provided service to the citizens of Akron in a competent, conscientious and caring manner. His actions serve as a positive example to the entire Fire Department, and he has earned the well-deserved respect of his peers.

ROBERT takes time to participate in the community. He shares his knowledge and expertise by providing CPR training to groups within the community.

When not working, Robert and his wife Malinthea enjoy spending time with their three children, sons Allan 16,Kyle 3, and Collin 15 months. Robert also enjoys relaxing with friends during a round of golf and plays on the department golf league.
