MICHELE BUCK began her career with the City of Akron in May, 1984 as a Clerical Intern in the Motor Equipment Bureau. She became a permanent Clerk Typist II in the Water Supply Division in May, 1986. In October, 1989, MICHELE was promoted to a Clerk Typist III in Water Supply and became a Secretary III in October, 1994. She also worked as an assistant in the Service Director’s Office during 1995.

MICHELE provides administrative support for the Water Supply Division in certain key areas such as budget preparation and tracking, monitoring the progress of division goals, and tracking division regulatory compliance.

MICHELE also provides office support activities, handles customer inquiries and complaints, supervises the division storeroom and is responsible for records retention.

From 2001 to 2004, she was a member of the Public Utilities Bureau’s Leading Change Team, an employee committee overseeing the reengineering of the bureau. She is currently the Vice-President of the City of Akron Picnic Committee. MICHELE has worked on the City Picnic for 19 years helping to organize the pavilion activities, contests and the popular prize raffle. She is also a member of the bureau’s Administrative Support Enterprise Accounting Team and Document Control Team.

MICHELE was born and raised in Ellet. She is a dedicated family person who is very close to her parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, walking, mountain biking, camping, fishing, canning and baking.

Michele BuckMICHELE works at a high energy level and shows a high degree of initiative. She is always looking for ways to improve work efficiency. She is a loyal and dedicated employee who is willing to perform any job duties outside her current classification for the betterment of the division. MICHELE tries to handle all customer calls herself and is always polite and courteous on the phone.

MICHELE recognizes the importance of her role in ensuring that the citizens of Akron receive an ample supply of safe, high quality drinking water. The immense public health responsibility of the Water Supply Division motivates Michele to do her best every day.
