JIM ANDERSON began his career with the City of Akron in the Engineering Bureau in June,
1984 as an Engineering Technician I. Jim was promoted to his current position of
Engineering Technician III on November 29, 1993.
JIM played a major role in the Middlebury Grocery Store Development. He was involved in
the preparation of the successful application for clean Ohio Revitalization Funds for the
property that brought $2.8 million to the project. HE prepared the plans and specs for the
demolition of the existing building at the site and then oversaw the demolition of the
building which also had hazardous materials. Throughout the course of the project, JIM has
worked closely with the developer of the project by preparing the plans and specs for the
Middlebury/Exchange Streetscape project that will provide the finishing touches to an
exciting project
JIM and his wife, Lynn, live in Ellet with their daughter Megan and son Ben. Jim enjoys
participating as a coach for his childrens activities, watching football at his
North Canton Alma mater, and attending the annual Salt Fork trip with his co-workers.
JIM is truly a role model who demonstrates his flexibility by designing projects in the
office then having the ability to follow the projects into the field.
