2004 Outstanding Employee Recognition Program

Carol with Mayor

CAROL HILL

AKRON POLICE DEPARTMENT

SAFETY DIVISION

POLICE OFFICER

AUGUST, 2004

CAROL began her career with the City of Akron in August, 1995, as a Police Officer. She is currently assigned to the Information Desk. OFFICER HILL is oftentimes a citizen’s first encounter with a member of the police department.

OFFICER HILL’S responsibilities at the Information Desk range from taking information from persons wanting to make reports to those who are irate due to their vehicles being towed or a family member being arrested. While assisting these individuals, she is also responsible for answering the phone. When necessary, CAROL is also able to handle disruptions that occur.

Throughout it all, she remains calm, pleasant, polite and professional to both citizens and other police department personnel.

CAROL and her husband Heath married four years ago on Valentine’s Day. They are the proud parents of four year old KeShawn and three year old Keith. CAROL loves watching as well as attending sporting events and spends all of her spare time with her family and friends.

CAROL has had the honor and privilege of representing the United States while in high school, by running track in Europe with the International Sports Exchange. She has participated in Corporate Challenge as well as Police Olympics during her nine years in the department.

Carol at work.OFFICER HILL has an Associate of Arts degree as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. SHE is licensed to practice social work and has worked in the field but decided to follow in her father’s footsteps by becoming a police officer.

While CAROL is usually engaged in several tasks at once, each one is completed both thoroughly and competently. Although OFFICER HILL does not work an assignment that allows her to become involved in lengthy investigations, she clearly deserves to be recognized for her personal work ethic and professionalism that she displays on a daily basis.
