LT. JOSEPH NATKO

JOSEPH began his career with the Akron Fire Department as a Firefighter/Medic in 1991. JOE
was assigned to Ladder Company No. 7 in 1996 to help develop the Technical Rescue
Operations Team (TROT) that specializes in high angle rope rescue, confined space rescue,
building collapse and trench rescue. HE was promoted to Fire Lieutenant in 1997, and is an
excellent fire company officer that has represented the City of Akron in county and State
of Ohio emergencies as well as training operations. LT. NATKO is a TROT leader for the
Akron Fire Department and Summit County TROT. JOE spends numerous hours preparing and
troubleshooting procedures with team members from the Akron Fire Department, Summit County
and State of Ohio.
JOE and his wife Melissa have been married for thirteen
years and are the parents of three children, Brandi 11, Candice 8 and Joey 3. JOE and his
family live in the Ellet area and attend The Chapel on Fir Hill. HE enjoys hunting and
golfing.
LT. NATKO participates in many other areas that go beyond
the normal scope of duties for fire company officer such as State of Ohio Fire Instructor,
Paramedic/ACLS/BCLS/PALS instructor, Cleveland State University Technical Rescue
Operations instructor, fitness coordinator, Summit County TROT Zone Coordinator, member of
Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Ohio Regional Strike Team Region 5 TROT, and oversees
operations and logistics of Akron Fire Department TROT Team.
LT. NATKO is an asset to the Fire Department and we at the
Akron Fire Department want to thank him and his family for their hard work to make our
community safer place in which to work and live. |
