RONALD BREZNAK began his career with the Fire
Department in January of 1985 as a Firefighter/Medic and was promoted to his current rank
of Fire Lieutenant in April, 1996. Lt. Breznak is the manager of the Accounting and
Services Bureau that oversees the Fire Department budget, financial planning and records,
personnel records and fire-related reporting and records, research and development,
equipment specifications and design, product testing and purchasing.LT. BREZNAK is a
member of the Akron Fire Department Hazmat Response Team and the Summit County HazMat
Response Team, functioning as a Zone Coordinator for both units. Lt. Breznak is a
certified Ohio Fire Instructor and assists the Akron Fire Dept. Fire Training Academy. He
also works as a fire instructor for the University of Akron teaching HazMat, HazMat
Awareness, and instructs CAMEO classes at Cleveland State University.
LT. BREZNAK and his wife Janet have been married twenty-one years and reside in
Goodyear Heights. They are the parents of twenty year old son Kyle and thirteen year old
twins Sabrina and Tony. They are actively involved in their churches youth group with the
twins as well as boy scouts with their thirteen year old son. Ronald also enjoys camping,
fishing, sports and movies.
RON is a model employee, always happy, cheerful, optimistic and enthusiastic. He has
many every-day responsibilities and is one of the busiest employees in Fire
Administration, yet constantly seeks more to do. He gladly accepts any and all
assignments, tasks and challenges. Always upbeat with a positive attitude, Lt. Breznak is
a genuine pleasure to work with. Clearly Lt. Breznak is a dedicated and committed person
who leads by example in his personal life and is a valued employee of the City of Akron.
