SUSAN MILLER began her career with the City of Akron on October 2, 1978 as a Clerk Stenographer I. She was promoted to a Clerk Typist II on August 22, 1982 and a Clerk Typist III on June 15, 1987. She is currently a Secretary III.

SUSAN is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking with her daughter Valerie.

SUSAN is the secretary to the Chief of Police. Her many duties include maintaining the Chief’s schedule, answering telephones, assisting the public, maintaining personnel files and correspondence. SUSAN has worked in two of the three subdivisions and has consistently performed her duties in a professional and exemplary manner. A recent letter to the Chief’s office from an Akron resident recognized her for being "extremely helpful in guiding me in the right direction." Her communication skills are impeccable and her organizational skills are

flawless. While assigned to the Investigative Subdivision, she was recognized for her ability to perform sensitive and complicated work. In addition to her many administrative duties, she has taken on the additional responsibilities of organizing and coordinating promotional receptions, FOP functions and the annual Police Memorial Service. She is a past member of the Ohio Organized Crime Investigation Task Force where Attorney General Betty Montgomery recognized SUSAN for her efforts.

SUSAN MILLER is a valuable employee to the City of Akron.
