MARY ELLEN
MAZAK started her career with the City of Akron as a Clerk Typist II in the Alcoholism
Division of the Health Department on June 23, 1993. On November 9, 1998, she was promoted
to the Secretary III level in the Personnel Department.
MARY ELLEN lives in Firestone Park with her husband Andrew.
They have a daughter and son, Leah and Andrew who are both college students. Her husband
is a Lutheran Pastor and they are actively involved in their church as well as being
dedicated to their family. She is currently having fun helping to plan her daughter’s
upcoming wedding, which will follow a May graduation from Valparaiso University. |

MARY ELLEN always displays a positive attitude towards her job and new assignments. She is
quick to grasp new routines, explanations and is always willing to help others. In
addition to providing the office support for the Classification section, she has been
instrumental in assisting with the development and design of several automated office
systems for the department. MARY ELLEN has taken the initiative to learn most software
applications used in the department and assists others in resolving user problems,
designing databases and expanding their overall level of expertise.

extremely organized in approaching existing and new tasks. She displays zest and pleasure
in her work. MARY ELLEN is truly an asset to the Personnel Department and the City of
Akron. |
