CHANGES TO OUR SHARED BRANCHING PROGRAM

EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2011 THERE WILL BE A $2.00 PER TRANSACTION FEE CHARGED TO THE MEMBERS OF AMECU WHEN YOU CONDUCT BUSINESS AT A SHARED BRANCHING LOCATION. THIS FEE WILL BE DEBITED FROM THE ACCOUNT INVOLVED IN THE TRANSACTION ON THE LAST BUSINESS DAY OF THE MONTH.

IF YOU ARE A MEMBER THAT HAS YOUR PAYROLL DIVIDED UP INTO SEVERAL SUB ACCOUNTS, AND THEN YOU WITHDRAW FROM EACH OF THESE SUB ACCOUNTS EACH WEEK, WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU CONSOLIDATE YOUR FUNDS TO HELP REDUCE THIS COST.

WE WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT YOU LIMIT YOUR VISITS SO THAT YOU ARE NOT VISITING A SHARED BRANCHING LOCATION EVERY SINGLE DAY. WE HAVE SOME MEMBERS THAT VISIT A SHARED BRANCHING LOCATION 2-3 TIMES IN A SINGLE DAY. THESE EXCESSIVE VISITS HAVE PLAYED A BIG PART IN OUR DECISION.

THE SHARED BRANCHING PROGRAM COSTS THE CREDIT UNION OVER $9000 ANNUALLY. WE HAVE DONE OUR BEST TO REDUCE OUR OPERATING COSTS, AND THERE IS JUST NO WHERE ELSE WE CAN CUT EXPENSES.

WE REGRET HAVING TO PASS ON THIS FEE TO OUR MEMBERS BUT WE ARE TRYING TO AVOID HAVING TO ELIMINATE THIS PROGRAM ALL TOGETHER. WE FEEL THIS IS A VALUABLE SERVICE FOR OUR MEMBERS AND REALLY WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO OFFER THE SHARED BRANCHING PROGRAM. THIS IS THE COMPROMISE WE HAVE MADE FOR NOW AND WE WILL MONITOR IT CLOSELY.

WE APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND VALUE YOUR MEMBERSHIP WITH AMECU. WE HOPE WE CAN WORK TOGETHER TO KEEP THE CREDIT UNION STRONG.
