ONLINE DISCLOSURE Introduction: This page explains the terms and conditions for using our Home Banking Service and provides certain disclosures and information to you concerning the service. Each of your accounts at Akron Municipal Employees Credit Union is also governed by the applicable account disclosure/agreement and the Truth in Savings disclosure you received when you initially opened your account. How to Access Your Accounts: To access your account through our Home Banking Service, you must complete an application to receive your User I.D. and a temporary password. The password assigned to you is temporary and should be changed as soon as possible during your initial sign on to the Home Banking Website. Your password should be kept confidential just as you would any other PIN numbers and security codes that allow access to your personal information. We recommend that you memorize your password and do not write it down. Select a password that would not be known to others and change your password frequently. You are responsible for keeping your password and all account information confidential. If you believe your password has been compromised, please notify AMECU at your earliest convenience at 330-375-2020. Access to the Home Banking Service can be through any PC that has Internet access unless other restrictions have been placed by the provider or system management. You can access our Home Banking Service through a link found on our website on the City of Akron Intranet or through our Home Banking web address which is You cannot use e-mail to conduct transactions or change account information. We will not respond to these types of e-mails because we cannot be certain we are corresponding with you. Please conduct these types of requests in person or by phone as long as the Customer Service Representative can verify it is you on the phone. Fees: There is currently a $2.00 monthly fee for accessing your account information through our Home Banking Service. We reserve the right to change this fee amount, if necessary, after providing a 30 day notice to all users by way of the Home Banking login page, the AMECU website, notice provided with your monthly statement, or through posted notices within the lobby of AMECU. Your internet service provider (ISP) may charge you a fee to access the Internet via their service. We have no control over ISP related fees. Available Services and Limitations: Members using our Home Banking Service may perform the following functions:
Business Day: Our business days are Monday through Friday. AMECU follows the Holiday closings of the Federal Reserve as well as any additional days that the City Of Akron observes. Security: Home Banking is an Internet financial service that enables members to perform various financial transactions from a personal computer at home, work, or school. Members can access account information through a secure web interface by using a personal User I.D. and password that can be changed as often as they want. R.C.Olmstead, our data processor, has conducted a site audit and is certified to be secure by VeriSign. Privacy: Our Home Banking database is a private system operated for the exclusive use of our members. All Home Banking logins are logged by the server. We collect and store certain information such as how often you visit the Home Banking section, dates and times of visits, and which pages are being used. We use this information for internal review and product evaluation only. We will never sell, transfer or trade this information unless we are compelled to do so by law. We may gather and store additional information available to us such as failed login attempts and other activity that we consider a threat to our system. In these cases, we will share this information with companies, agencies, and law enforcement officials as we determine necessary or as we are required by law. Statements: All transactions generated by you through our Home Banking Service, as well as any fees, will appear on your monthly or quarterly statements NOTE: E-Statement is not available since we process our statements in-house and do not use an outside source to create and distribute your statements to you. Liability for unauthorized transfers: Tell us AT ONCE if you believe your password has been lost or stolen and immediately change your password from within the Home Banking section. Calling is the best and quickest way of notifying us immediately in order to keep your possible account losses down. However, it is also best to submit something in writing as a follow up precaution. You could lose all the money in your account. If you contact us within two business days, you can lose no more than $50 if someone used your password without your permission. If you DO NOT tell us within two business days after you learn of the loss, and we can prove we could have stopped someone from using your password without your permission if you had told us, you could lose as much as $500. Also, if your statement shows transfers that you did not make, tell us at once. If you do not tell us within 60 days after the statement was mailed to you, you may not get back any money you lost after the 60 days if we can prove that we could have stopped someone from taking the money if you had told us in time. If a good reason (such as a hospital stay) kept you from contacting us, we may extend the time period.
