- Lawn sprinkler irrigation account number
- Lawn sprinkler irrigation service address
- Date of activation or inactivation (if your meter is in your basement)
- Meter reading and date taken (if your meter is in your basement)

Please note for account activation:
If your lawn sprinkler irrigation service was turned off at the street connection last
season, request a customer service representative call you to schedule a date and time for
service turn on at the street.
If your lawn sprinkler irrigation system was turned off at the valve in your basement
last season, then your account will be activated on the date we receive your service turn
on request.
Please note for account inactivation:
If your lawn sprinkler irrigation system was turned on at the street connection this
season, request a customer service representative call you to schedule a date and time for
service turn off at the street.
If your lawn sprinkler irrigation system was turned on at the valve in your basement
this season, then your account will be inactivated on the date we receive your request.
How to open an account
Residential Accounts
The City of Akron requires all accounts to be in the name
of the recorded deed holder of the property. To open
a residential account, fax your recorded deed or settlement statement to us
at 330-375-2308 or deliver the document to us in person in the
Utilities Business Office located at 146 South High Street in downtown Akron. If the water
service has been turned off at the street, please include a written request signed by the
owner to turn on the water. Please submit your request at least one week before the
desired date. For example, to have water service turned on the 10th,
please submit your request 5 business days before that day.
Commercial/Industrial Accounts
The City of Akron requires all accounts to be in the name
of the recorded deed holder of the property. To open a commercial or
industrial account, fax your recorded deed or settlement statement and a
completed water contract (133k pdf) to us
at 330-375-2308 or deliver the documents to us in person in the Utilities
Business Office located at 146 South High Street in downtown Akron. If the water service
has been turned off at the street, please include a written request signed by the owner to
turn on the water. Please submit your request at least one week before the desired

How to close an
account
The City of Akron requires all accounts to be in the name
of the recorded deed holder of the property. Utility accounts can be closed
by calling the Utilities Business Office at 330-375-2554 and informing us the
property has been sold. You can provide us with a meter reading for the final bill (How to read your meter) or you can
request we obtain a reading. Please give us your forwarding address and
we will mail a final bill to your new address. |
